Where we spend our money matters. Each purchase that we make here at Carnegie Mellon University is an opportunity to invest in local, minority-owned businesses. Purchasing food for events, meetings, and gatherings is a low-barrier way to support these businesses and be better neighbors to the broader community. Cornelia Moore, Purchasing Manager in Civil & Environmental Engineering, has created this directory to purchase from minority-owned businesses in the Greater Pittsburgh region. The Research-to-Practice grant awards $5,000 to undergraduates at Carnegie Mellon for 8-10 FULL-TIME weeks of summer research that positively impacts the Greater Pittsburgh Region community. This opportunity is available to current first, second, and third year students (students who will be graduating Spring 2025 are not eligible to apply). This opportunity is not available to Graduate Students.
